Pokémon Ruby

GBA (2003)

The GBA Pokémon games actually have two save slots that the games alternate between, so that if there is a data corruption it can restore from the other slot and hopefully not lose all of your progress. There is a handler for both of those slots being corrupt, too, though.

The error about the internal battery is probably pretty familiar to anyone who tried to emulate Ruby or Sapphire back in the day. Or anyone who tries to play one of the cartridges today, because those batteries are all actually dead now. I thought about not including that error, because it’s probably one of the least “rare” errors, but there’s something to be said for an iconic error, I suppose.
